The absence of something supposedly only makes you want it more. I highly doubt that's the case with my writing, but it's been missing from my life lately & subsequently, the blog, so I'm going to try and bring it back.
Just not today.
This is still about absence though, the absence of people in these photos wasn't even apparent to me until a day after I edited them, I'm so wrapped up in the story this piece of land has to tell, that I spent a few hours going through over 250 of my images and selected 25 that I think actually depict what I want them to.
Looking at them again today, I'm still a little in love with how desolate this abandoned naval base is. Especially because the absence of busy people makes it easier to photograph. Every building, flower, shred of grass and piece of sky is so captivating to me. Total geek- I know.
