There is so much to be thankful for. This year it’s almost impossible to list it all. Our health, our happiness, our family and pups. The ridiculous amount of food we ate today, our jobs (at the best place to work in the bay area according to The San Francisco Business Times – yes I’m bragging and yes I know it’s impolite). Our friends and all the happiness they bring into our lives.
I think most of all I’m thankful for the future and the possibility and the unknown of what is just around the corner for us. When I asked Ryman what he is most thankful for during dinner tonight and he said that he couldn’t narrow it down to just one thing, so I guess his man answer is officially EVERYTHING.
While visiting with my mom and grandma this morning (cinnamon rolls were involved!) I saw my great grandmother’s old recipe card for spice cake and I just had to take a picture so you could see it too, it’s not as old as the recipe itself, but to see it in her handwriting was pretty awesome. My grandma and I sipped coffee and ate pumpkin bars and then my mom and I chopped onion and garlic and celery until there wasn’t any left. It was a really great morning.
Then it was time to head home and start the cooking, it was really fun to prep everything and put it all together, Ryman’s only job was the turkey and I took care of everything else. He also set up practically an entire studio in our kitchen and took hundreds of photos of me cooking. It was hysterical. Thank goodness for marriage cause I couldn’t have done it alone! We had a delicious meal, realized we made WAAAY too much food and the dishes are still sitting in the sink as I type.
I hope your day of thanks was as perfect as ours. I also want you to know how very thankful I am for you. Reading this right now is taking time out of your day to read what I have to say and it means a lot to me. Probably more than I’ll ever be able to properly express to you. Please take these silly words at what they are, my mere attempt to show gratitude to YOU.
